**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
The Logistics Engineer main role is optimizing material flow from dock to warehouse to point of consumption by leading the design, engineering and implementation of new packaging and material handling technologies at the Acuna Operations and to sustain Logistics pillar rollout implementation. The Logistics Engineer also has a role of lead cost deployment projects related to the Logistics pillar.
Must be capable of collaboration with cross-functional teams and departments leaders to address concerns and issues that affect material flow, production efficiency and continuous improvement. The Logistics Engineer will have exceptional interpersonal, organization and management skills demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.
**Essential Functions**:
- Manage and lead efforts to develop material flow design standards and principles.
- Partner with Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations functions to develop and implement solutions for optimizing material presentation to maximize flow through plants and line productivity as well as create standards across all facilities.
- Partner with Logistics Lead to document and implement process standards where applicable. Targeted goals include: Reduce material handling waste, improve labor efficiency, optimized space utilization and highly accurate part selection
- Oversee concept development, prototype testing, engineering design, and collaboration with 3rd parties on packaging design, integration testing, project management, implementation, and handoff.
- Promote use of and participate in development of company design and production standards.
- Seeks and promotes logistics cost saving including but not limited to packaging and leads cost deployment projects.
- Sustain pillar rollout concept implementation
- Drives implementation of standard containerization throughout all operations
- Perform Corrective and Preventive Problem Analysis.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- The employee has the authority to stop the production line, when he/she notices that the product has a quality problem or defect.
- Support PSA Activities and procedures with team members.
- Perform all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.
**Management & Supervisory Responsibilities**:
- Job **is** **NOT directly** responsible for managing other employees. Co-ops or students may report to this position.
**Knowledge**:
- Working knowledge of Mean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5s and JIT principles is required
- Proven experience leading packaging design and material flow efforts
**Experience**:
- Minimum 2 years of operations experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
**Skills**:
- Strong problem-solving skills required
- Written and Oral communication skills required
- Strong analytical and organization skills. Ability to manage several complex projects at the same time with high degrees of variation and uncertainty
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Knowledge of SAP a plus
- Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D a plus
**Education/Certifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or similar
- 100% Bilingual English and Spanish a must
