**Job Description Summary**: Logistics Specialist manage the particulars surrounding procurement, maintenance, and transportation of military materiel, facilities, and personnel.
They develop, evaluate, monitor, and supervise logistics plans and programs including war readiness materiel, deployment, employment, and support planning.
The regular activities of the Logistics Specialist are:
- Responsible to issue the Routing Guide and socializing it.
- Evaluate efficient transportation modes and methods.
Plan, control and implement processes related to materials and finished goods movement.
- Performs data entry updates using spreadsheets and databases independently interpret and analyze data, communicating results to the Logistics Customs Compliance Manager further analysis.
- Planning and tracking loads/shipment activities and maintaining accurate records.
- Identifying traffic problems and/or issues creating appropriate corrective action plans to achieve desirable results on time.
- Communicating with drivers and carriers to schedule shipment activities and performing administrative tasks to deliver high-quality service for all parties.
- Utilize organizational equipment and updated required information into systems complied with state and federal rules, procedures, and regulations.
- Continued knowledge of industry relevant laws, regulations, and requirements.
- Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
- Responding to customer inquiries.
- Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
- Making special shipping arrangements as necessary.
- Tracking and fixing shipping errors.
- Review bills and invoices.
Managing distribution and shipment budgets.
- Ensuring that the quality of all services provided meets the required standards.
- Responsible for the Cross-Docking Operation.
- Developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized
