Allyn International is currently looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our team in Mexico! Allyn is a privately held professional services firm established in 1992. We provide high-quality, customer-centric services and solutions for the global marketplace. The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for managing logistics activities in a manner that shall meet business fulfillment requirements in parallel with the goal of transportation cost reduction. The position is responsible for collecting and communicating all necessary information related to upcoming and ongoing shipments, projects, and services, as well as providing logistics support, consulting, and obtaining best possible transportation rates.
Compensation: 315,000-370,000 (Pesos)
Language: Fluency in English REQUIRED
Hours of Work: Regular business hours, Monday-Friday. Some weekend work may be required.
Physical Demands : Sitting, and typing, in person position in our new Monterrey Mexico Office.
Required Experience and Education: Bachelor's or equivalent college degree required Bilingual skills required (English and Spanish) Ability to formulate and present high level presentations and conduct trainings preferred Program and project management experience preferred Supply chain compliance experience preferred A resume in English is required Ideal Candidate Skills : Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Integrity Ability to multitask Flexibility Prioritization skills Written and verbal communication skills Decision making abilities Planning and organizational skills Data analysis skills Project management Responsibilities : Route cargo in accordance with legal and customer requirements including: Transport mode Equipment type Least cost Loading and offloading requirements Coordinate the routing process including: Using contract rates and least cost whenever possible Obtaining spot quotes for lanes or loads that aren't contracted Selecting carrier and tendering cargo in accordance with the process Providing carrier, shipper, broker, consignee all pertinent docs and information as required Issue resolution and shipment responsibility Training of new employees and of clients if needed Research and subject matter expertise in the field of logistics and transportation Actively use either Allyn's proprietary software or use the software chosen per the client Accurately issue shipping documentation such as certificates of origin, customs invoices, packing lists, and certificates of insurance Reliably track and expedite progress of specialized shipments Capture all costs associated with a shipment including; Detention charges Storage charges if applicable Accessorials Surcharges Demurrage Other charges Actively look for and capture savings opportunities and added value opportunities when possible Actively participate in team meetings, conference calls, and daily project management calls with Allyn team and with the client Eliminate or minimize risk exposure for Allyn and customers Maintain online tracking and metrics tools Track and resolve freight claims Provide excellent customer service to Allyn customers Allyn International clients range from small local businesses to Fortune 500 firms in industry sectors such as power generation and renewable energy, road construction equipment, electronics, industrial materials, heavy-duty trucks, mining and drilling equipment, oil and gas, modular building, medical equipment, not for profit, and US government.
