**Essential Job Functions**:

- The partner must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation:_
- Educate and partner with Regional Loss Prevention (LP) leadership and assist with the LP program as it relates to multi-channel fraud detection.
- Implement comprehensive fraud detection strategies and business rules that balance fraud loss, customer service, and brand impact.
- Use investigative tools to identify fraud trends in stores, online, and corporate offices. Once fraud has been identified, take all steps necessary to resolve case.
- Keep current on use of tools including exception software (XBR), fraud detection tools online, sales audit tools, banking software, Polaris, Oracle inventory management system, video software, accounting payment tools, Peoplesoft, access control, alarm monitoring systems and any future systems identified.
- In concert with Sales Audit, Operations and Ecommerce, focus on innovatively reducing fraudulent credit card purchases in both the retail and online environments globally. Stay abreast of current trends in credit card theft and work with partners to create and implement processes to reduce the frequency of occurrence.
- Create and maintain metrics for measuring the success of fraud detection/prevention strategies.
- Identify potential stolen product offered via online channels (eBay, Craigslist, coupon sites) and identify source for potential prosecution and/or recovery of product.
- Review, investigate, and track suspicious activity, analyze trends, communicate fraud/security threats to management, and provide recommendations for loss mitigation as needed.
- Manage investigation notes and case logs for active and past cases, ensuring accuracy and protecting the company from liability.
- Provide updates to LP leadership and senior leadership on the status and results of fraud prevention program.
- Work an alternate work schedule which consists of weekends and holidays.
- Provide direct-level customer service to inbound callers calling Petco customer relations.
- Using database software create, maintain, and update a refunds management database tracking all no receipt refund information sent by all stores. Identify multiple refund offenders in database, notify offenders, and add individuals to district list for distribution.

**Education/Experience**:

- Minimum a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) with related experience. 4-year college degree with emphasis in Criminal Justice, Loss Prevention or Accounting with 2-3 years of work experience preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar time-critical, resource-driven, independent work environment.
- Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in the English language.
- Due to the sensitive nature of the matters handled by the department, demonstrated ability to safeguard sensitive or confidential information is necessary.
