Overview: The M3 Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the design and development of dry-type transformers and transferring information from different locations for the construction of CCA's and Tanks for oil Transformers, through individual contributors and engineering teams. As a mid-level manager, the M3 role focuses on managing engineering projects and ensuring alignment with business objectives, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. This role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior managers and engineers.
Responsibilities: Lead and manage engineering teams, ensuring the design and development of transformers or related components meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements. Oversee project execution, from concept through to production, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of designs into production. Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, CSA, IEEE, NEMA) and regulatory requirements throughout the product development process. Mentor and develop junior managers and senior engineers, providing technical guidance and career development opportunities. Monitor and manage team performance, ensuring that engineering KPIs align with business objectives and drive continuous improvement. Manage project resources and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within allocated resources. Drive problem-solving and risk management activities, addressing project challenges and mitigating risks to ensure successful outcomes. Promote a culture of safety and adherence to best practices within the engineering teams. Stay current with industry advancements, applying insights to drive innovation and improve product performance and reliability. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in Engineering or an MBA is preferred. More than 8 years of experience in the field of transformer engineering, with significant experience managing engineering teams and projects. Experience in the design and construction of the following dry type transformers (Single Phase and Three Phase Ventilated Transformers, Drive Isolation Transformers, TENV Transformers, Non-Linear Transformers, Harmonic Mitigating/Zig-Zag Transformers, Harmonic Suppression System). Proven ability to manage engineering teams and lead projects from concept to production. Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and modern manufacturing processes. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver multiple projects and priorities. Effective communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals. Strong problem-solving abilities and experience in risk management and issue resolution. Experience managing budgets and project resources to meet objectives. High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to continuous improvement. Required- Bilingual (Spanish and English)
