.Job Overview: Manages the Maintenance Department of the plant to ensure smooth, uninterrupted production while creating the safest working environment possible. Ensures maintainability and reliability of equipment, building and facilities to achieve a high level of asset preservation while meeting departmental and business unit objectives. Approves job orders to determine work priorities for staff and manages overall schedules for repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.**Responsibilities**:Essential Functions: - Identifies and addresses problems in a timely fashion providing a trouble free environment for associates while maximizing uptime of equipment. - Identifies critical inventory levels for all necessary maintenance equipment and selects the most effective and efficient suppliers. - Plans, budgets and executes capital improvement projects for the ongoing operational needs, including technology, facilities and equipment. - Establishes facility sanitation goals and maintains appropriate documentation to meet or exceed the standards set by regulatory agencies. - Partners with plant management in establishing and refining preventative maintenance programs, associate training, manpower scheduling techniques, parts room inventory, efficiency improvement programs, regulatory compliance programs, energy management/utility control to meet business unit objectives. - Establishes work measurement techniques, determines effectiveness and identifies areas for improvement. - Performs engineering analysis to determine root cause for the most critical and repetitive failures. - Analyzes equipment history to identify specific failures and effectively addresses. - Oversees the Preventative Maintenance/Predicative Preventative Maintenance (PM/PPM) programs and inventory for all equipment. - Manages and coaches direct reports in the performance of their duties and provides feedback to direct reports including development and training objectives. - Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. - Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, assigning duties through subordinate supervisors. - Frequently examines tools and equipment to detect unsafe conditions or violations of safety protocol.**Qualifications**:Required Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent in Electronic or Mechanical Enginering - At least 5 years of management experience, preferably in a maintenance, facilities or engineering department - Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills - Excellent verbal and written communicate skills - Proven ability to lead, train and motivate a team - Must have a basic knowledge or training in 5's, Lockout & tagout, Hazcom, Plant Safety, ISO 14001, HazWaste, and environmental and quality standards
