You will find Nordson employees sharing our success by giving back in the communities around the world where we live and work.GENERAL SUMMARY:The Import and Export Manager is responsible for ensuring compliant import and export realized by the Departments of the Maquiladora Business for Nordson Medical Mexico locations (Tecate & Guaymas).
This includes, without limitation, adherence to applicable U.S. and non-U.S. laws and regulations about international trade as well as ensuring compliance agencies.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Follow medical device manufacturing best practices (GMP, GDP, etc.
), current Nordson Medical policies and procedures, ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, and other applicable regulations to ensure compliance with applicable customer and regulatory requirements.Create International Trade SOP and Standard Procedures in the Nordson Quality System to guide or advise Nordson users in need of importing or exporting.Responsible for maintaining and supervising the inventory control system and updating Annex 24.Obtain, review, and generate USMCA certificates of origin from vendors.Promote business strategies focused on reducing or mitigating duties, and price analysis of the goods imported.Coordinate Permits to meet with the MX/US Trade Regulations.Monitor and manage MX/US Trade Compliance of Nordson´s operations.Follow-up MX/ US Government Audits.Respond to Nordson Global Trade Compliance Audits.Coordinate, Implement, and Supervise Foreign Trade Certifications (Import Record, VAT, IMMEX) and Supply Chain Security Certifications (AEO & CTPAT).Search and Develop MX/US broker agencies & US Freight Companies according to Nordson's business needs.Create and implement KPIs for the Import-Export Department to measure performance.Work proactively with departments to prevent trade disruptions.Prepare and schedule internal training related to International Trade to promote a culture of Compliance.Proactively and promptly notify the Operations Manager of import and export conflicts and coordinate with Nordson Corporate Trade Compliance to resolve.Manage and audit multiple sites in Mexico.Other duties or projects as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, Import - Export experience required, preferably in medical device manufacturing.Knowledge of ISO 13485:2003, GMP, FDA, QSR.Related experience within international standards (ISO 13485 / 9001), FDA and European quality systems requirements (QSR, MDD), and risk management (ISO 14971, DFMEA, and PFMEA).People management skills.Team building, development and coaching.English and Spanish fluencyKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA's): Strong knowledge of I/E operation and complexityMexican Customs System (Customs Law and RGCE in force)VAT-IEPS CertificationIMMEX DecreeCTPAT / AEO CertificationsUSMCA CertificatesWell-developed written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
Ability to write and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos in both English and Spanish.
