Position Summary:
Leads and develops the Material Team of a large plant and typically more complex supply chain (generally defined by a plant/Material headcount of more than 250 employees and/or plant revenue greater than $70M) in supporting Purchasing, Logistics, Master Scheduling Capacity Planning and Inventory Control to achieve the financial and operating objectives set by the overall organizational business plan.
Responsible for developing the Material Team and implementing advanced Supply Chain Strategies.
Drives a Lean Culture in a high energy team environment.
Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.
Collaborates with Manufacturing, Project Managers, Engineering, PSI, and Sales as well as other areas in the general Supply Chain including Sourcing to drive Supply Chain performance by improving supplier lead times and reducing component and assembly inventory levels.
Develops and executes on time delivery, inventory turns, and inventory control, adherence to production plans, cost improvements and ensures continued employee growth through development.
Manages and controls inventory investment to set goals and objectives for areas of responsibility.
Facilitates and leads strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Investigates potential for delays and/or quality issues, identifies alternative (approved) plans, and engage, elevate when any sourced item will not arrive on time to support the schedule or quality issues arise.
Supports and may establish material departmental budgets; monitors the cost and effectiveness of production planning and scheduling to meet and support customer RK/PK.
Supports removal of barriers to improve shipping and receiving by facilitating timely transport of goods within budgets and government regulations.
Establishes and maintains appropriate systems and processes to ensure honest, fair, and ethical work environment; adhering to legal regulations.
Manages both human and economic resources.
Major Responsibilities:

- Sales and Operations Planning Process owner.
- Coordinate Production Planning and Purchasing activities to meet Business goals.
- Define Supply Chain Strategy
- Ensure purchased and machined components availability to support internal and external customer demand
- Control/Plan raw material, WIP and FG stocking level
- Cycle counting
- Negotiation and agreements with internal customers to improve conditions of planning and demand
- Calculation and adherence of department's budget
- Coaching developing and engaging team members to excel at their roles
- Participating in cross-functional projects to review and implement continuous improvement projects across the facility

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Technology
- Production Planning/Purchasing.
5+ years
- Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP).
3+ years
- Experience in leading teams (3 to 5 years)
- Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma (preferred)
- APICS (CPIM, CIRM) certification preferred
- Oracle/ERP advanced knowledge
- Strong Data Analytical skills, Technical / problem-solving skills
- Negotiation skills
- Solid knowledge in Inventory Management
- Resolving conflict, improving efficiencies, continuous improvement
