**Job Summary**
The Manager Procurement Commodity is responsible for the development, presentation, execution, and regular updating of procurement strategies for responsible commodities globally and regionally. This role provides direction to cross functional teams within the organization regarding decisions in those commodities to align with approved strategies. The person in this role will have significant focus on a cost competitive and sustainable supply base, driving cost transparency, supplier optimization and development, supplier quality, and supply chain performance.
**Responsibilities**
- Development, presentation, execution, and regular updating of procurement strategies for responsible commodities globally and regionally. Provide direction to cross functional teams within the organization regarding decisions in those commodities to align with approved strategies. Significant focus on a cost competitive and sustainable supply base, driving cost transparency, supplier optimization and development, supplier quality, and supply chain performance.
- Identify and analyze potential new suppliers that could provide increased value to Yanfeng
- Maintain commodity bid list insuring that suppliers are sourceable per defined requirements.
- Lead, develop, and manage commodity roadmaps in order to meet or exceed planned goals for cost savings and material economics and to provide forecasting information to the organization.
- Lead and support cost savings activities including post launch audits and supplier continuous improvement activities.
- Lead cost transparency/cost model workstreams for responsible commodities and drive closure of identified cost gaps.
- Coach and support buyers through sourcing and negotiation, understanding and execution of strategies, and operational procurement escalation items.
- Drive/support/lead any additional projects (Advance Product Development & Sales, Insourcing/Outsourcing) that support improving the run rate of the business or competitive & strategic position in the market. Foster innovation interaction between internal and external groups.
- Lead annual business review process with strategic suppliers to ensure supplier specific roadmaps are met and commodity strategies incorporate the current state of suppliers.
- Support supplier development team by leading supplier executive reviews with low performing suppliers, support and negotiate supplier charge back escalations, and maintain and update supplier scorecards.
- Lead, motivate, support, and develop procurement team members in responsible commodities
- Support make or buy decisions. Guarantee compliance with business operating system, purchasing operating system and product realization process.
**Qualifications**
**Education**
- Bachelor's Level Degree, Area of Study: Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
**Work Experience**
- 5-9+ years of experience with Supply Chain related roles with a focus on negotiation.
- 3-5+ years of experience within the automotive industry
- Strong relational/interpersonal skills
- Must be able and willing to travel and work at supplier locations, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
