The Data Excellence team will be a part of the CDAI organization, focusing on operational excellence, data quality, and developing new features. About the role Join our team and lead a group of 7 to 10 contributors in building a brand new team. You will play a vital role in improving customer data quality and AI model effectiveness. Collaborate with product managers, AI collaborators, and engineering teams to develop features and frameworks that enhance data quality and operational efficiency. You Will Get To: Hire strong talent. Lead a team of 7-10 ICs (Software Engineers, TPM and BigData Engineers), offering mentorship and support to ensure successful project delivery. Cultivate a culture of Operational Excellence and Quality Obsession. Rethink the approach on data quality and support across Data Engineering and MLOps and come up with long term strategy and solutions. Maintain high standards of Software Engineering Excellence by collaborating closely with peers and team members. Foster strong cross-functional relationships across the organization to promote collaboration and ensure alignment on project goals. This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events. Who you are At least 3 years of management experience, with a proven track record of developing and leading high-performing engineering teams. At least 5 years of Data Engineering and Software Development experience. Strong knowledge in areas of Operational Excellence in Data Engineering space. Strong knowledge in areas of Data Engineering e.g. Spark, Airflow, Python, and SQL. Good understanding of MLOps space. Nice to have working experience in Databricks, Flink, Kafka, NoSQL stores. Passion for mentoring, growing the potential of others, and supporting direct reports. Iterative approach to software development combined with the dedication to ownership, moving fast and thinking big. Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, complex environments with minimal oversight. Collaborative working style with a strong focus on well-adapted execution and results. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Qualifications At least 5 years of experience with a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or related field. At least 3 years of management experience leading a team of more than 5 ICs. At least 5 years of experience leading operations and quality efforts in the Data Engineering space. At least 3 years of experience developing ETL pipelines using Spark, Python, Scala, Airflow, etc on AWS. At least 1-2 years of experience in MLOps. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Streaming technologies like Flink and Kafka. Knowledge of Databricks platform. Knowledge of NoSQL DBs e.g. Dynamo.
