- Responsible for the maintenance of manufacturing machinery and equipment and support areas.
- Responsible for the management of the maintenance department, developing issues such as: creating a safe work environment and fostering a safety culture, definition of objectives and strategies, work standards, KPI's, activity planning, determination of skills and tools of the operating personnel to achieve the objective of the lines, ideas for improvement and savings.
- Ensures the availability of manufacturing and support equipment according to BorgWarner Irapuato's objectives.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining maintenance procedures and routines for all equipment on existing production lines.
- Scheduling and allocation of all maintenance activities through SAP.
- Ensures availability of spare parts for manufacturing and support equipment.
- Follows up on the fulfillment of financial commitments.
- Responsible for operator training in TPM and autonomous maintenance.
- Develops and implements predictive maintenance strategy.
- Actively works on actions to maintain and improve plant maintenance KPI's.
- Ensures the availability and proper use of tools, spare parts and hardware required for productive machinery.
- Drives costs within expectations and promotes improvement initiatives.
- Utilizes necessary engineering tools and resources to ensure processes and compliance with product and customer requirements.
- Promotes timely and efficient participation in scheduled audits.
- Actively participates in preparing the building and utilities to receive new equipment.
- Participates with his team ensuring the achievement of the OEE target.
- Promotes and oversees proper use of troubleshooting tools and implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure equipment adherence to ergonomic and JSA safety guidelines.
- Ensure along with his team, quality procedures and follow up to the quality manual.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement.
- Follow up on IATF guidelines and audit process.
- Oversees compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, labor and other legal requirements.
- Ensures implementation of core lean manufacturing tools and initiatives.
- Creation of concise metrics for each process.
- Propose and implement cost saving projects.
- Defines, proposes and tracks performance objectives each year.
- Creates and ensures the execution of development plans for all direct subordinates.
- Create personal development plan.
- Ensures the creation of succession plan.
- Utilizes problem solving methodology, Rapid Response and Root Cause Analysis.
- Identifies and participates in the solution of specific problems related to the efficiency obtained (OEE).
- Supports and coordinates employee training in specific technical level areas.
- Observes compliance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements of the processes under management.
- Observes compliance with IATF 16949 Environmental Management System requirements of the processes under management.
- Serve as technical advisor and internal audit leader for CQI-9.
- Actively participates during the time of the audit in company with the CQI-9 auditor.
- Follow up the PDCA activities until its closure, as a result of the CQI-9 evaluation of the heat treatment processes managed by the company.
- Participate as manager of the follow-up of the systems: GSSF, quality management, environmental management, safety management and C-TPAT.
