Roles and Responsibility
Position Summary: The Manual Tester is avaluable member of our agile development team responsible for ensuring thequality and reliability of our software products. As Manual Tester, you willwork closely with senior test engineers, software developers, product owners, andquality control engineers to design, develop, execute, and maintaincomprehensive test strategies and frameworks. Your role will involve designing,developing, and executing manual and automated tests and frameworks, ensuringthe efficient and timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities: This is intended as anoutline of the essential functions of the position. Actual metrics thatmeasure job performance may be set forth in a separate performance managementdocumentation.
Duties and Responsibilities: · Technical Expertise: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, includingsoftware engineers and product owners, to understand user stories, features,and epics, and contribute to developing acceptance and testing criteria.Participate in sprint planning and estimation sessions to determine the testingscope and effort required. Report and document test results and defects,following established processes and guidelines. Collaborate with the team totrack and analyze testing metrics, such as tests executed and defects identified,to contribute to overall testing effectiveness. Assist with defect root causeanalysis.
· Teamwork: Support the QC team members in achieving productrelease delivery goals.
· Execution/Results: Assist in designing, developing, and maintainingmanual and automated test suites, test cases, and test scripts. Execute manualtests and assist in the execution of automated tests to validate softwarefunctionality and identify and report defects. Work closely with senior testengineers and software developers to investigate, debug, and resolve softwaredefects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products.
· Continuous improvement: Contribute to continuously improving testingprocesses, tools, and methodologies to enhance software quality and efficiency.Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging trends, and newtechnologies related to software testing.
· Communication: Communicate effectively with software developers,product owners, QC team members, and other stakeholders to understand userstories, resolve issues, and provide status updates on testing activities.Articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.Participate in team meetings and discussions, providing insight andcontributing to decision-making processes.
· All other duties andresponsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Requirements and Skills: · Bachelor's degree inComputer Science/Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent workexperience).
· 3-5 years of experiencein software testing is preferred.
· Experience designing andimplementing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scripts.
· Basic understanding oftesting methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
· Proficient in manualtesting techniques and methodologies.
· Basic understanding ofagile software development methodologies and practices.
· Proficient in creatingSQL queries for test validation.
· Good analytical andproblem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
· Good communication andcollaboration abilities, with a team-oriented mindset.
Desired Skills: · Knowledge of thefollowing: Oracle or rational DBs, SQL, UNIX/LINUX user commands/editors/shellscripts, web services, batch file scripting & testing java basedapplications.
· Some experience withautomation testing, using tools such as Coded UI, Selenium, Microfocus UFTformerly Quick Test Professional, JMeter, Soap UI, and Postman.
· Experience with Jira orsimilar Agile product management tools.
· Experience with TestRailor other test case management systems.
· Some softwaredevelopment experience.
· Strong willingness tolearn and grow in the field of software testing.
Production Support/On-Call Duties: As a key member of ourengineering team, you will address escalated production issues from customer support. Yourresponsibilities will include:
· Participating in arotational on-call schedule to handle significant production issues.
· Rapidly diagnosing andresolving technical challenges that arise in production.
· Collaborating withcustomer support and engineering teams for seamless issue resolution.
· Maintaining clearcommunication and documentation during and after incidents.
· Leveraging theseexperiences to contribute to continuous process improvement.

Forhours spent actively working on-call, compensatory time off is provided, unlessthe law requires otherwise.
