Assists in determining the operations required for more complex projects in fabrication and assembly of products as well as implementing cost-savings process improvements. Owns the processes - creates capable processes. May be responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. May coach or manage less-experienced team members. Troubleshoots and resolves more complex issues, develops the sequence of operations, estimates time requirements for each, and prepares operation sheets. Identifies, recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters in order to increase efficiency and cost savings. Designs and programs CNC equipment to utilize to full capacity. May be responsible for completion of engineering projects. Designs new line layouts or re-designs plant layout. Position Summary:
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed.
- Identify production and machine requirements to support daily activities and monthly production program.
- Design and install poka-yokes, fixtures and devices specially required to improve the safety, quality and production rate.
- Analyze and determine the best manufacturing workflows and resources between cells and assembly lines, improving safety, ergonomics and production rates.
- Implement new options to material handling in productions areas, that increase the safety, ergonomics and preserve the integrity of components according to quality standards.
- Identify and propose optimizations to facility layout, production lines, machine operations and network performance based on numeric analysis to support the changes.
- Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
- Analyze and resolve issues and delays in production, ensuring follow the procedures documented, visual aids and after any change need to be preformed and update in documentation.
- Propose and execute projects to reduce costs and expenses, maximizing the tools performance and ensuring the quality in all production process.
- Identify opportunities for preventing waste and inefficiency during production.
- Teamwork with other areas, not only production but also the service areas and actively participation in RBS projects as Kaizen events.
- Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions, and improvements.
- Create and maintain required documentation for manufacturing processes, including flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing.
- Review and ensure that all production processes are properly documented using the official standards for ISO system. Identify documents that need to be updated and document all new process implemented.
- Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental RegalRexnod regulations.
- Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.
- Design and develop robust manufacturing concepts to simplify and improve processes and ensure best practices.
- Propose Upgrade systems and processes with new technology to improve performance and reduce operational costs related with production process.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mechatronic Engineer, Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
- 3-5 years experience.
- Self-directed, proactive, decision taker.
- Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma within 3 years.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design, focus on CNC equipment and assembly lines.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques, blueprints, tolerances and results interpretations.
- Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. Master cam, Solidworks, Gcode, MS Office)
