A Test Engineer designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. The position performs a variety of technical, multi-disciplined tasks early in the Product Development Process to provide timely, flexible, universal tools and processes. The Test Engineer makes knowledgeable, data-driven decisions and employs innovative technologies with optimal control and maximum speed and flexibility.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure testability of new product designs, providing feedback to design teams addressing opportunities for defects in manufacturing and field use.Accurately estimate project costs as associated with implementing test solutions.Own the test requirements from the vendor to shipment to the customer.Verify products meet their functional requirements - including design verification and manufacturing screens. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products.Analyze capabilities and ensure control of critical parameters of products and test equipment.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Test Engineers regularly work in office, lab, and manufacturing facilities. Travel to international manufacturing and/or development locations may be required.
SKILLS:Must have strong problem-solving attributes.Able to operate a variety of electrical test instrumentation.Capable in hardware and software development.Strong at communicating with and influencing design teams, vendors, and customers.EXPERIENCE:Greater than 3 years of relevant design/development team and/or manufacturing support. Proven ability to methodically solve complex, technical issues. Demonstrated proficiency in NI LabView test application development.Willing to travel for trainings.EDUCATION:Bachelors Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology.
