Provides necessary input to develop cost, prepare manufacturing specifications for various operations/work stations. Develops effective and economic standards, procedures and processes to assure conformance of products to specifications. Recommends and implements design changes to improve reliability, manufacturability and cost.DutiesReview and process product documentation pertaining to engineering drawings, PFMEA including initial release and subsequent revisions.Review products for the purpose of reducing cost of manufacturing through value analysis, material substitution, process changes, make/buy decisions.Recommend rearrangement of plant facilities.Develop clear and concise manufacturing specifications/instructions to maintain quality and to assure smooth work flow through the factory.Provide floor support during the manufacturing cycle, verify standards, and update manufacturing specifications.Assist with review and implementation of factory test equipment.Develop workmanship standards to accommodate manufacturing/inspection and assure conformance to specifications.Develop manufacturing costs and participate on reduction cost projects.Assure manufacturing facilities, tooling and test equipment are available to meet production requirements.Perform manufacturing studies leading to recommendations for new and improved methods, procedures and equipment utilization.Review and evaluate plant capacity and capabilities; recommend action to optimize burden absorption.Evaluate and process defective material (IR dispositioning).Perform root cause analysis for internal and external failures.Active participation of the SAFETY, CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT and TRAINING initiatives, which include but are not limited to: A3 Certification and projects, STOP Observations, Monthly Safety Audits, SQDC board maintenance, upgrade and administration of KPI for the area, propose and execute CIP (Cost Improvement Projects), maintenance of LSW sheet, upgrade and maintenance of initiatives using Dploy system.Duties - cont'dThree to five years experience in manufacturing engineering. Demonstrated proficiency in Good Manufacturing Practices relating to NC or CNC machines, metal forming, metal joining, assembly.Education DegreeBachelor's Degree in Engineering GeneralRequired ExperienceDemonstrated technical knowledge related to area of responsibility.Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and decision making skills.Effective interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional team members.Preferred Experience SkillsDescribe empowerment, decision making, and problem solving authority
