Job Description
Danfoss is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer. If you are an experienced professional ready to bring forward your ideas, then Danfoss gives you the freedom to do so. As Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible to Provide day-to-day support to production cells on Manufacturing Engineering related matters to ensure availability for assembly processes & equipment to collaborate on Production's metrics & goal achievement, meeting all times with the applicable Safety, Quality, Health & Environmental, and Human Resources policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensure Process & Assembly equipment, tooling, and fixtures are always available for Production.
Ensure Process & Assembly equipment is in the Preventive maintenance schedule and verify it complies with measurement standards and is effective.
Ensure Process & Assembly tooling, fixtures, and special tools comply with the required standards with the max/min inventory.
Keep records and maintain all drawings, spare parts lists, and technical information for equipment, tooling, fixtures, and special tools.
Drive Continuous Improvement opportunities for process & assembly equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
Develop and implement error-proofing systems for the equipment assigned.
Implement standardization of standard work and manufacturing best practices.
Participate in the cell team to achieve metrics on High Five metrics.
Ensure the engineering changes are executed as planned to avoid temporary deviations.
Evaluate and issue temporary deviations for manufacturing processes if needed.
Support the training to develop technicians or operators as required.
Attend customer complaints (8D) and implement corrective action.
MPS/ECOS.
New products – develop the tooling or process for new products.
Capital Projects.
Support and/or participate in Continuous Improvement Activities such as: Kaizen, Ideas Programs, cost-out, and/or demonstrate improvements in goals year over year in our processes or practices aligned to achieve our business goals and/or objectives.
Lead the manufacturing activities related to projects of new product introductions.
Background & Skills
The ideal candidate possesses these skills:
Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical or Mechatronic Engineering (or any other related field).
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in the same industry field (desirable).
Experienced in automation processes and familiar with PLC programming.
Proven and solid experience in AutoCAD (or any drawing program).
Experience in designing and implementing fixtures.
Green Belt certification (desirable).
Project Management knowledge (desirable).
Statistical program knowledge (Minitab, or any other).
Lean Manufacturing knowledge (desirable).
Fluent in English/Spanish.
