**Descripción del empleo**:
Leader and functional manager of a team of engineers responsible for sustaining production processes, the introduction of new technologies and continuous improvement.
This manager will define and execute the strategic plan for engineering and drive timely and high-quality execution of projects through the management and mentoring of direct reports was well as the utilization of personal expertise.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen technical competencies and collaboration with other teams.
Manage, mentor and develop engineers.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and lead the execution of the strategic planning of the department.
- Leads and manages the operation of engineering department to ensure goal/objective achievement directly or through subordinate staff.
- Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost/profit control.
- Creates, manages, and controls department budget.
- Manages large projects: Organization, definition, planning, implementation, and control.
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Manage and motivate for higher performance; increase skills levels.
- Perform the evaluation for annual MERIT granting, providing feedback to the staff under your charge.
- Ensure the implementation of life and career plans for identified personnel with high potential.
- Promote leadership development programs, skills and behaviors generated by the corporate and promoted locally.
- Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends to product management activities.
- The position requires ongoing and critical participation with other internal groups such as Operations and QA in developing and rolling out the preferred products and system solution.
- Perform the preparation of quarter operations review (QOR).
- Prepare and represent the engineering department in internal and external audits.
- Coordinate the implementation process for transfer lines and line duplication to the Mexicali site to support demand requirements and profitability.
- Promote the development of continuous improvement programs to generate savings or efficiency improvements.
- Ensure the implementation of Intuitive culture concepts in the department.
- Ensure the establishment of succession plans for critical positions of the Company.
- Consolidate information on the functional status of engineering, production and quality processes.
- Occasional travel is required (up to 20%).
**Requisitos**:

- BS in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electronics, etc )
- High level of English speaking, reading, and writing.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 (preferably)
- Proven ability to lead and motivate across functional boundaries
- 3 to 5 years as and Manager in manufacturing Engineering - (Flexible)
- Experience in definition of departmental strategies.
- Experience in the medical industry (preferably)
- Experience in leading validation and verification process.
- Strong analytic skills as proven by track record for analyzing and fixing complex problems in products and processes
- Proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite of productivity software.
