Manufacturing Engineer A (Welding Engineer) is the change agent responsible for maintaining and improving a specific process on an assigned APU or Process.
Oversees day to day process performance, monitors KPI's, addresses Issues and provides with solutions always considering cost.
Champion on continuous improvement and process support.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Conduct research to develop new or already implemented special processes for manufacturing.
- Establish the Standard Operating Procedure for the specified special process (Welding).
Ensures alignment and adherence to the specified "recipe" of the process by the operational team.
- Establish Safety procedures for individuals working within the assigned special process (Welding)
- Interacts with Manufacturers on the designing and planning of new equipment or processes, including technical validation, ensure compliance with customer or internal specifications (engineering authority)
- Process Audits - Responsible for Process Audits to ensure compliance.
- Technical Trainer - Certifying Agent; as Process Engineer and owner of a Special Process you will be responsible for the initial Theorical and Practical Training to ensure that operations have the knowledge and understanding of the process, variables, and recipe to follow.
- Process Monitor and Control: The Process Engineer will define data collection and monitoring systems that will ensure that the process critical variables are under control limits, immediate corrective action is expected when those variables are not under control.
- Capital Justification and approval for assigned projects and process needs.
- Business Unit and Functional KPI's tracking and performance: Scrap, Operation Supplies, Change Over, Standard Hrs
- Cost Reduction Projects
- Lean / Operational System Implementation within Business Unit: Standard Work, SMED, Poke-Yoke
Root Cause Analysis, Preventive and Corrective Actions Implementation
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace or Automotive Engineering degree
- Demonstrated Welding Experience with Automotive, Aerospace or Structural Applications
- Demonstrated knowledge on MIG, TIG, Fluxed Core welding process for Aluminum, Stainless and Galvanized Steels
- Structural Analysis for welded elements (Desired)
- Demonstrated experience working and defining compliant process with AWS / NADCAP
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- NPD or NPDI Process
- Lean Transformation & Kaizen Events
- APQP
