.The Manufacturing Engineer Manager primary responsibilities include:- Ensuring that SL Power operates a safe work environment and specifies safe manufacturing practices.- Responsible for planning, organizing and managing activities of Manufacturing Engineers functions.- Define, design, develop and Implement SPC tools for assembly tools, manufacturing and test fixtures and key processes- Primary emphasis is continuous quality improvement on current products through process and product optimization via a robust process control management- Actively collaborate in concurrent engineering activities with design engineers to ensure that all new products are introduced with process control plans that achieve the quality goals as stated in the product introduction plan at the time of release.- Interact with Quality and Operations to ensure an appropriate transfer of new products, PPAP, and continuous improvement programs and initiatives**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:**Safety**:- Working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals; - Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed; - Ensure implementation and evolution of safety procedures.- Develop, implement, deploy and maintain safety KPIs and practices for all NPI and manufacturing processes (ie.
fixtures, equipment, SMT, wave solder(s), others)**Quality**:- Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure quality meets or exceeds planned goals.- Work in coordination with the quality organization in establishing quality engineering processes- Develop, Implement, Deploy and maintain quality KPIs for SMT line such as, but not limited to, solder paste placement and oven temperature profile, deploy visual management in cells for these KPIs.- Develop, define and Maintain manufacturing process controls (SPCs) for key processes- Analyze workflow and layout and implement changes/related work methods.- Ensure BOM and process standards are accurate and being followed- Participate in the development phases and gates for NPI process- Participate in development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts- Interact constantly to develop root cause specific 8D reports and ground corrective actions in processes.- Participate and lead root cause analysis and develop/establish improvement action plans- Interact constantly with Quality Engineering, Operations, Materials, Support Areas to ensure robust processes using PPAP, SPC and LEAN tools.- Responsible for talent acquisition, development, evaluate and superve direct reports.- Develop and establish best practice manufacturing engineering processes**Delivery**:- Lead the process engineering team in assisting production to meet production schedules as required by plant production schedule to support customer request delivery dates- Comply with on time and prompt delivery of requests to the department made by internal and external customers
