**Basic Qualifications**:
- **Scholarship**:University degree required in an appropriate manufacturing or engineering related field with experience in manufacturing assignments (Industrial Engineer is desirable **)**:
- **Experience**:Five to six years in manufacturing related fields experience, requires a thorough knowledge of manufacturing operations, Lean Manufacturing, Takt Time Cycle Time Studies, Lead Continuous Improvement projects with DMAIC methodology, Layouts and tooling functionality and concepting ideas to Implement best in class reliable manufacturing processes. Previous supervisory experience and at least four to six years manufacturing experience.
- **English**:Basic
- Quality Tools, GD&T & Problem-solving methodologies is highly desirable
**JOB PURPOSE**:To assist technical services management by performing technical analysis of manufacturing processes, systems, heat distortion issues, cellular manufacturing, etc. to permit effective management decisions.
This position is intended to have a high heat distortion and dimensional conforming solving skills.
**JOB DUTIES**:This is a Jr. staff assignment that, independently or as part of a team, is involved in the maintenance and improvement of processes and systems used in the manufacture of product.
This is a fully functioning journey level position, for an incumbent with a varied amount of remanufacturing experience, who may obtain assistance from a more experienced senior level person. Troubleshoots day-to-day process problems, initiates solutions, and follows-up to evaluate effectiveness of changes to ensure practical cleaning, salvage, machining, fabrication, assembly, testing, etc.. Manage acquisition and define process design ideas, fabrication and repair of all necessary tooling and machines. Determines, contacts and negotiates with external or internal suppliers & customers for machines, tooling, parts and contracted labor. Analyzes engineering change notices, determines any part or process change, initiates and implements all changes.
Incumbents have an assigned manufacturing area and through Senior staff support provide tooling, machines and equipment to complete the operation. Coordinates the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts. Ensures optimum utilization of equipment and space by coordinating the layout of areas such as storage areas, test equipment, etc. to accommodate the changing production requirements
Analyzes and recommends current and future systems, procedures, training and equipment needs based upon understanding and communication with users. Determines acceptability of new equipment based on usage requirements and recommends modification or revision as necessary.
Provides analysis and recommendations needed to allow manufacturing to produce the engineering product designs. Provides effective communication and services in solving production problems or pursuing operations improvements. Simulates present and future machine lines and cells to predict line flow problems and makes recommendations for implementation.
Conducts investigation to assist in resolving technical problems. Provide coaching to process engineers in Heat Distortion Opportunities by conducting weld distortion analysis and solve dimensional conforming issues.
Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties.
Travel: 5 % of the time.
