Overview of the Role We are looking for Research Associates to work with big data, centralized sources and core research methods to build and validate numbers in a standardized, transparent and efficient way.
The position will report into a local Research Manager or Team Lead.
Responsibilities Primary and secondary research Data analysis and manipulation Collaboration and teamwork Quality control Project management Role Profile Understands input data, further developing it, to ensure all centralized secondary sources are well covered Uses a mixed-methodology approach - including in-house data, relevant tools, external sources, and interviews - to effectively build data estimates Plans, sets up and develops supporting materials for projects Identifies key research sources, conducts interviews with trade sources and gathers inputs from both in-house and external sources Works with key secondary sources and able to manage conflicting sources Analyses various large datasets and manipulates them as needed to create meaningful category/country estimates, as well as monitoring, reviewing, and cleaning up data for internal and external stakeholders, while maintaining records and resolving quality issues Manipulates inputs to arrive at initial data estimates before further testing and validating in the field and with inputs from other team members working directly with clients Runs quality control and provide detailed explanations on sources and data triangulation and the why behind the numbers Oversees the daily management of in-country analysts, guiding them throughout the field research, owning the communication, reviewing, querying, and related administrative tasks.
