As a Buyer in our company, your responsibilities include maintaining material acquisition according to requests created by the planner. The buyer is the main point of contact between suppliers and operations, responsible for creating and being familiar with purchase orders, managing the accuracy of the information for all issued and open purchase orders for metrics traceability and visibility for the rest of the organization, and reporting any supplier delivery failures and performance issues to Operations and Tactical Sourcing. You will track supplier shipments until the material is delivered to the facility dock and the receipt is processed in the system according to the supplier's documentation, ensuring that invoice payments are made on time. The buyer's contributions will have a direct impact on production efficiency, in addition to adhering to supplier strategies dictated by Corporate Sourcing and maintaining a healthy relationship with suppliers.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)Analyze material needs for the next 3 months, identify any supply risks, work on expediting, communicate with operations, and escalate to Sourcing.Follow up on open purchase orders according to need dates or supplier promised dates, monitor shipping progress, border crossings, and receipt entries.Responsible for converting material requisitions created or released by the planner into Purchase Orders.Ensure supplier knowledge of the PO and communicate delivery dates through the system or any other method.Execute planner's material acquisition needs (enter/expel/cancel) and communicate the results to the planner.Follow up and resolve received material hold (quarantine), purchasing parts from suppliers.Communicate parameter update needs to Sourcing (price, LT, MOQ, standard package).Execute engineering-approved material deviations when there are supplier delivery issues.Execute and manage phased-in and phased-out material per planning and sourcing instructions.Execute RTS according to the suppliers' RMA instructions.Execute split buys according to sourcing rules.Conduct open market research, analyze PPV, and execute according to Sourcing approvals.Skills and ExperienceAdvanced English / Procurement / Planning / Kanban / MRP KnowledgeAbility to work with minimal supervision, sense of ownership.Knowledge of the supply chain (logistics/import/export).Ability to maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiation skills.Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.Use and interpret data to determine purchasing needs and perform inventory management tasks.Strict attention to detail, data maintenance, and system accuracy.Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with team members and suppliers.Minimum Experience Required2 years of experienceWe value diversity and are an equal opportunity organization.
