**Experience**:
Previous manufacturing plant experience
Previous automotive industry experience
Computer skills (Microsoft Office/Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Autocad, Access
Functional expertise in Packaging and Containerization disciplines
Strong understanding of lean material flow strategies & lean manufacturing processes
Ability to design equipment, packaging and dunnage

**Position Duties**
1. Confirm packaging meets form, fit and ergonomic requirements for plant internal packaging/dunnage.
2. Initiate corrective actions to alleviate part quality concerns related to dunnage or handling
3. Support lean manufacturing continuous improvement (decanted marketplace, small lot containerization, flexible linefeed, returnable containerization, etc.).
4. Manage Ford-owned container and material handling maintenance and cleaning projects
5. Manage stock piles, external warehousing, and logistics (supporting part re-pack, rust-proofing, container repair, dunnage washing, and long-term part storage).
6. Develop internal packaging/dunnage specifications and sign off ( global Ford packaging specification)
7. Work with teams, operators, and Material Handling to improve workstation material delivery and presentation.
8. Develop layout proposals for unique operations or line rebalances.
9. Specify, purchase, and coordinate the installation of material handling linefeed equipment
10. Complete cost studies, capital improvement budget projects, forecasting packaging and container/racks costs, MH equipment requirements, floor space effect, material flow impact, and synchronous material flow system support.
11. Support new model programs and capacity alternative planning
12. Determine container fleet size
13. Review MP&L manpower and operations to identify and implement efficiencies
14. Work with suppliers and staff packaging engineering to resolve packaging quality concerns, establish and/or revise packaging to comply with specified guidelines, and address compliance issues
15. Works with MP&L for Market, call and card parts that are affected by product actions
16. Support returnable containerization (convert cardboard to returnable dunnage).
17. Ensure optimization of PMHV fleet and ensure all Ford standards are met with proper equipment types.
18. Monitor Industrial Vehicle Electronic Control System (IVECS) system or vehicle inspection compliance.
19. Continuously drive for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, Morale, and Environment improvements, and/or process improvements.
20. Single point of contact for issuing department purchase orders, RFQ's, and payment approvals.
