.Job Opening: Material ManagerSummary: Schedule, direct and supervise all the planning of local and foreign materials, such as raw material, components, tooling, and parts. Inventory control (FIFO), storage, transport, import/export, and reception activities of the materials, goods, and services you need for your current and future operations. Oversee maintenance of inventory control systems that track purchase order status, inventory levels (minimum and maximum), and production requirements. Support the managers of operational areas (for example, production control, engineering, maintenance, tooling, etc.). Attend customer calls to provide information on their specific needs to the production departments and notify production of the agreed delivery dates to customers. Receive and enter the purchase orders on the ERP system.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure the correct materials are on hand in time to complete the production process in accordance with customer requirements.Inventory tracking of materials for production and finished goods and notification to Production Manager about days available, flow of materials, cycle counts, etc.Responsible for the accuracy of the annual physical inventory.Coordinate and supervise reception of materials and storage procedures.Supervise the control and distribution of supplies within the organization.Supervise the import and export process of materials as well as compliance with annexes 24 and 30 of the customs law.Coordinate delivery with customers and suppliers as well as transportation coordination.Receive calls and/or conferences with customers to review purchase orders and special requirements.Notify Production Management team of customer requirements and provide support for the preparation of the production program.Responsible for maintaining the customer purchase order system and ensure job orders are updated in the ERP system.Issue direct and indirect materials to the corresponding job orders.Negotiate price reductions in material costs with suppliers and negotiate annual cost reduction plans.Evaluate, train, and coach everyone in the material department to ensure potential for personal career growth. Ensure that short term/long term staffing requirements will be met.Assist in the development of plant-wide goals and benefit plans. Establish and monitor procedures to control total manufacturing costs with special emphasis on material cost variations.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.Fluent English.Ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in logistics and supply chain as a Material Manager or assistance with management responsibilities. Experience on import and export procedures working with the following ANNEXES 24 and 30 is also necessary. Strong knowledge of IMMEX laws.Excellent computer skills; experience in MicrosoftOffice Suite
