JOB SUMMARY:
Facilitates an auto
- replenishment supply program to provide timely receipt of production materials to meet customer needs. Initiates continual improvement within IATF 16949 and follows environmental requirements within ISO 14001, comply with the requirements of BASC-CTPAT. To fulfill the roles and responsibilities related to the protection of the environment.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Confirm with vendors that they download their requirement schedules from the portal every Tuesday to ensure the manufacture and shipment of raw materials for production purposes, for the cases that the supplier doesn't work with the portal, the planner should send manual orders or forecast to supplier so they can produce and ship accordingly.
- Analyses on hand material inventories and production demands to identify and correct any shortages or excesses that would negatively impact production schedules and operational costs. Notifying of issues to pertinent personnel.
- Expedites and follows in-coming raw materials due to shortages or order increases and initiates special crossings as required to meet production needs. Reports all associated expedited in-bound freight costs following premium freight procedure.
- Escalate any potential shortage risk internally within Stoneridge's involved teams and externally with the supplier as soon this is detected, start follow up meetings with supplier and procurement to work on an emergency shipping plan to avoid shortage or minimize the impact to the production line or the customer deliveries.
- Attend any meeting related to the materials that the planner handle.
- Analyses on hand inventory levels against projected requirements to identify excess and obsolete materials.
- Attends supplier visits to discuss material concerns and to coordinate and improve partnerships
- Assist in providing information in correcting invoices with freight and receiving errors
- Provide material analysis for customer demand variations or potential shortages.
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Business, or Logistics discipline
EXPERIENCE:
- 1 - 3 years in material planning related activities.
- 1 - 3 years in automotive industry desired.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Proficeint in english
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal venues for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
