.The Material Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials within a manufacturing or production facility. This role ensures that materials are available to meet production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The Material Superintendent works closely with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure efficient material flow and to avoid any disruptions in the manufacturing process.Key Responsibilities:Material Management:Supervise the receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished goods.Ensure proper documentation and tracking of materials in the system (ERP/MRP).Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely material availability according to production needs.Inventory Control:Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure regular cycle counting and audits are conducted.Implement inventory control strategies to minimize waste, overstocking, and shortages.Monitor and manage inventory replenishment systems, ensuring timely restocking of materials.Production Support:Collaborate with production planners to align material availability with production schedules.Troubleshoot material shortages and provide timely solutions to avoid production delays.Monitor and communicate potential material issues that could impact production timelines.Supplier Coordination:Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials, handling any discrepancies or issues as they arise.Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery performance.Team Leadership:Lead and manage a team of material handlers, warehouse personnel, and inventory staff.Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and productivity.Ensure a safe and organized work environment, complying with safety standards and protocols.Data Analysis & Reporting:Analyze material usage trends, demand forecasts, and lead times to improve material planning processes.Generate reports on material consumption, inventory levels, and supply chain performance.Present insights to management for decision-making on material procurement and inventory strategies.Cost Management:Implement cost-saving initiatives related to material handling, storage, and transportation.Monitor and control budget related to material procurement and inventory management.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.Experience: 5+ years of experience in material management, logistics, or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.Skills:Strong leadership and team management skills.Proficient in material planning systems (ERP/MRP) and inventory management software.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills
