Purpose of Position:Transportation Coordinators support the business functions, who are responsible for managing day-to-day shipping activities, maintaining delivery schedules, and tracking deliveries to ensure they are met in a timely manner. Performs technical duties and activities within prescribed time frames including assigning and monitoring driver routes (internal & external). Participates in projects to improve overall process and technical efficiency. The Coordinators update and provide tracking information to customers as well as to internal managers. They monitor and report driver issues such as accidents, safety concerns, handle customer complaints, and investigate delivery issues, including damaged products and late or lost deliveries.
Major Responsibilities and Tasks of the Position:Lead/participate on project teams to improve overall process and technical efficiency.Support logistics network optimization.Support for Business Shared Objectives.Transportation cost reduction initiatives; identify and propose remedies to problems.Cost trend analysis and reporting.Supply assurance.Provide industry best practices.Escalation POC for service issues.Expedited shipments support.POC for carrier/FF service issues.Routing Guide support.Tactical day-to-day support.Perform technical duties and activities within prescribed time frames.Train new personnel to standard operating procedures.Maintain and ensure confidentiality of information/materials.Give status reports in written and verbal formats.Support revenue maximization activities.Manage data provided to customers through EDI.Interact with others at the same level, and one level above, to ensure continuity and efficiency.Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Education:Associates or Bachelor's Degree.Work Experience:Successful track record in previous Transportation/Supply Chain work experiences.2-4 years' work experience.Scope of Position:Logistics project support.Management of 3rd party freight service provider.Supplier relationship management process support.Operational & logistics support.Proven self-starter able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.Strong analytical skills to support logistics decisions, business reporting, and distribution analysis.Ability to work in and lead cross-functional project teams.Strong organizational, interpersonal skills, and relationship building ability.Strong transportation/logistics experience (functional knowledge in Supply Chain).Ability to develop and execute cost-saving strategies including problem-solving skills.Experience with training internal customers.Experience with supplier/customer relationship management.Communicate effectively with internal customers and external suppliers.Understand customer requirements and support the development of strategies to meet or exceed those expectations.Serve as a change agent with a continuous improvement mindset to develop, communicate, and execute new ideas and methods to make the organization more effective.Preferably knowledge of import and export.Software skills such as Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SAP highly preferred.Additional Skills: English is not required.10% - US & Mexico
