Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Materials Director located in Juarez Sur.
- Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Materials Director's role involves:
- What a typical day looks like:
- Working closely with the management teams within the Materials segment, in charge of directing and guiding the implementation of strategies and tactical execution for efficient and cost effective materials flow to deliver the maximum advantage to the business (segment) and customers.
- Guide and direct sourcing teams in identifying, communicating, and implementing sourcing strategies and supply chain management best practice.
- Plan and implement activities related to the timely and cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
- Work closely with sub-ordinates to ensure global strategies and policies are effectively developed, communicated, and implemented driving best practices
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, material control systems and metrics to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions.
- Establish successful relationships with suppliers on a country, regional or global basis to ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
- Interaction with all stakeholders around materials processes, that includes, superiors, subordinates, peers, internal customer (GAM, SSCM, Regional and global teams,), external customers actual customer.
- In the initial stage, a lot of daily walks thru all material's operational areas, WH, production floor, DOF areas, Shipping areas, external WHs etc.
- Discipline review of key operational metrics, which is a fundamental task to get our operation back on good track.
- The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Advances English
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree.
- Work with the Global Commodity management and strategic supply chain management teams on sourcing strategies including supplier selection, risk research and capacity management.
- Coordinate with Finance on matters involving inventory carrying costs and review and plan requirements for acceptable inventory.
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
- Regularly interact with executives and major clients which may result in influencing and/or persuading customer negotiations.
- Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
- Experience on aftermarket services type of business
- Previous experience in the position of director of materials.
- Deep knowledge on the following materials areas: Purchasing, Materials Planning, Production Planning, Production Control, Warehouse, Inventory Management, Inventory Cost Management, Logistics, Import/Export in and out from Mexico.
