We are currently looking for a Materials Engineering summer Intern based in our Mexicali facility.
Join the Materials Engineering team within the Global Production Engineering Services Organization. You will provide technical consulting for the area materials engineering & metallurgy in accordance with internal and external customer requirements. You will be responsible for interfacing with design engineers, production engineers, suppliers, and customers to generate purchase and manufacturing specifications regarding the in their end-item configuration.
You will team with other experienced engineers and ensure that material requirements are met on environmental control system and engines and propulsion programs.
**Responsibilities would be the following**
- ** **Review drawings, specifications
- Provide support on site with development of new special processes in Mexicali such as Welding, Heat treatment and Brazing.
- Support on defining testing matrices configuration
- Research and develop procedures for appropriate testing method selection.
- Research and develop procedures to normalize statistical information.
- Support the development and document testing protocols in compliance with Aerospace standards in the following categories:
- Support on strategic planning for further projects.
- Coordinate to setup new testing and processing capabilities.
- Demonstrate ability to plan and work with projects supporting existing or developing new capabilities in Mexicali.
- Result oriented.
Demonstrateengineering knowledge and skills for materials engineering.**Qualifications**:
- ** **Basic Qualifications
- ** Undergraduate student in Engineering Metallurgy, Materials, Aerospace, Chemical, Mechanical or related field.**:
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- High bias towards action, proactive English language proficiency (written, spoken).
