DescriptionSupervises the planning, purchase and handling of material for the different areas of the company, as well as shipments of finished product from all areas and warehouses.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise, assist and support purchasing personnel in the processes where it represents complications.Support sibling companies with information, follow-up, projects, etc.Responsible for following and enforcing procedures applicable to the materials area.Work with other managers to find solutions to problems and follow up on issues/needs related to the department.Supervise the different areas of the Materials department, Warehouse and Shipments.Conduct salary reviews and evaluations of department personnel.Participate and assist in the coordination of the annual warehouse audits.Coordinate special projects related to the area.Serve as liaison with the systems department for implementation of improvements/changes to our programs.Participate in Staff meetings and decision making.Conduct supplier evaluation program according to ISO requirements by updating files and sending periodic reports to suppliers.Ensure that department personnel receive the required training according to their position and current standards.Monitor/analyze metrics pertinent to the department such as cycle counts, inventory turns, on-time deliveries, vendor deliveries, etc.Evacuate in case of emergency and head count of personnel in charge.Report via email to immediate supervisor any important departmental information, such as: discontinued or missing materials, problems with any of the suppliers, relevant situations of any of the department members, etc.Review/monitor obsolete or slow moving materials.Oversee that all department personnel comply with safety regulations such as the use of PPE.Oversee compliance with 5S program in Materials areas. Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field.100% proficiency in English.Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience5 years in a similar position.Purchasing and/or materials planning experience. Personal AttributesLeadership.Empathy.Commitment to the company.Detail Oriented/Adaptability.
