. As aMaterials Manager, your primary role will be to ensure proper execution in production planning and purchasing areas by implementing strategies, providing coaching, and acting as an escalation point. You will oversee on-time material arrival, MRP exception messages execution, develop metrics, and regularly provide feedback to the team. Our Team: You will work within theGSP (Global Shared Plants)team in our Guadalajara plant, reporting to the Site Material Manager. You will supervise the production planning and purchasing functions, regularly interacting with a variety of internal and external contacts including production supervisors, program managers, warehouse teams, and customers. What You Will Do: Lead the production planning and purchasing team by providing tools, coaching, feedback, and timely support. Support the operations team by providing visibility, feedback, and demand projections, and by managing manufacturing orders. Implement sourcing and purchasing strategies in coordination with the Purchasing Supervisor and/or Sourcing Manager. Collaborate with the operations team to identify and implement materials-related improvements. Measure and balance the workload of the team based on skills, experience, and knowledge, and justify additional resources if necessary. Lead the execution of GSOP and maintain alignment with Network and Inventory planners from the Business Units. Develop and implement strategies to reduce inventories, slow-moving, and excess materials. Develop tools, share knowledge, and provide the necessary skills to help the team increase performance and/or automate planning and purchasing processes. Act as the point of contact for internal and external escalations. Participate in internal and external audits, providing accurate information. Develop, maintain, and update documentation such as RREs, job descriptions, and production planning and purchasing process procedures. Regularly interact with executives and major clients, influencing and/or persuading during customer negotiations. Implement HR strategies to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications): 10 years of experience (at least 5 years managing people). Proven work experience in demand management, planning/purchasing areas, and leading teams. High communication skills. Good understanding of the supply chain and ERP. High proficiency in ERP systems (SAP is a plus). Proven ability in different planning environments (MTS, MTO, MTF, etc.). Experience in SMT and Back-end operations. What Will Put You Ahead: Master's degree in administration. APICS certifications in planning and/or purchasing. Experience in SMT operations, Back-end, manual assembly, and automated processes. Experience with ECNs, PCNs, NPIs, product engineering, and project management. High expertise in Microsoft tools, especially Excel. Fluent in conversation in English (90% spoken and written)
