**Materials Manager**
Responsible for achieving results through the establishment and follow-up of plans and working programs, with the purpose of supplying any material required for the adequate operation of the specific programs assigned, also the managing and distribution of material and product.
This role requires advanced knowledge of the industry and a broad experience in planning activities.
**Responsibilities**
- Coordinate with the line managers of production, warehouse, logistics and distribution for the smooth flow of the supply chain.
- Lead and build an effective supply chain planning organization.
- Devise plans or improvise the current methods to reduce the procurement, production and transportation costs without compromising the quality specifications.
- Manage suppliers and vendors for smooth flow of the essentials without any time delays.
- Negotiate and bargain for quality, quick delivery and purchase price with the suppliers.
- Manage the reverse logistics (for the return of reusable packaging materials or damaged goods).
- Prepare annual or quarterly budgets of operation and financial targets in compliance with the firm's policies, strategies and objectives.
- Manage and control inventory value levels, defining targets for each operation
- Set a group of controls to monitor the behavior of the usage, inventory accuracy, excess and obsolescence.
- Plan and execute cycle counts and wall to wall physical counts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including program management, production and logistics fulfilment teams.
- Effectively lead change in this critical area of our future state operating model.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Experience**:
- Bachelor's degree, Industrial Engineer, Computer Systems or related.
- 7-10 years of procurement, Supply Chain and Delivery experience, preferably in a reverse logistics, hi tech or manufacturing environment.
- Expert knowledge and full understanding of interdependencies of production and capacity planning, scheduling processes, distribution methods, inventory management, material flow and planning,
- Proven experience leading and managing a team.
- Ability to quickly assess situations, identifies root causes of issues, generate multiple solutions, make sound decisions, and effectively communicate at multiple organizational and functional levels
- Ability to quickly build and develop effective working relationships across the organization.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels in the development of supply chain strategies and plans that operationalize long term business strategies and effectively meet day to day needs of my client and their customers.
- Thorough knowledge of MRP systems and functions
- Advanced knowledge of SAP, MS Excel, Access and PowerPoint proficiency
- Six Sigma Black Belts Preferred.
- APICS or other professional certifications.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels within the organization and externally.
