**ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Monitor and direct the materials and manufacturing planning, production control, material control, shipping and receiving functions associated with the support of the manufacturing operation.
Set aggressive improvement goals and report results on a regular basis.
Maintain and report minimum inventory levels appropriate to the manufacturing operations.
Utilize systems to reduce, control and disposition obsolete inventory.
Advise and recommend changes to procedures, policies, processes, and equipment related to the materials management functions.
Provide support for the implementation of supplier development programs and manufacturing certifications (i.e.
supplier certification, ISO 9000 etc.)
Assist in the development and implementation of improved Materials Requirements Planning systems.
- Manage the planning and flow of materials and FGs to maximize delivery performance while optimizing inventory performance
- Manage a team of buyers, planners, inventory control and shipping resources.
Increase productivity, professional development and careers
- Measure and manage the performance of materials indirect and direct support teams.
- Support the SIOP process and step in to lead as required
- Identify, share and implement best in class supply chain practices
- Develop standard work, policies and procedures in collaboration with other facilities Materials Managers and professional supply chain resources
- Suggest and lead continuous improvement for your department and others
- Manage Supplier held inventory programs to improve delivery, reduce lea-times and avoid E&O and risk to Vertiv
- Collaborate with other departments to drive continuous improvement for Vertiv
- Collaborate with other facilities and regions of the world to optimize inventory globally
- ITC leader for Materials Department
- Monitor capacities and product line delivery performance and daily throughputs.
- Work with manufacturing operation to improve material flow through the plant and increase productivity
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Minimum Qualifications**:(education, experience level, knowledge, skills, designations/certifications).
- BS is business administration, or related discipline.
- 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, materials management, production planning or other material planning function.
- Experience in an industrial, high mix job shop environment
- Very proficient in spreadsheets, MS Office.
- An excellent understanding of our manufacturing operations, supply chain management and appropriate Vertiv products.
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to work at different levels of the organization and with outside customers as required
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience leading cross-functional teams is required
- Knowledge of SIOP and production scheduling dynamics is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- APICS or CPM certification
- Bilingual
- MBA or related advanced degree strongly preferred
