BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join Materials Planner & Scheduler at our SLP PDS Plant in Mexico.
In this role, and under direct supervision of the PC&L Manager, the join Materials Planner & Scheduler responsible for reviewing system requirements, analyzing material coverages, determining material shorts for production.
Key Accountabilities-Filling of requested reports of short materials with transit dates and coverage analysis.
Effective communication with the material programming area to ensure correct programming when detecting a short material.
Sending releases with firm orders on a weekly basis according to the defined date, ensuring receipt of release by supplier.
Responsible for monitoring the inventory level on a monthly basis according to the defined objective.
Responsible for tracking shipments from suppliers (air, abroad, ground). Tracking concludes once the material is delivered to the line.
It is the responsibility of the material planner to ensure on-time delivery to the production line by following up with the different support areas and reporting any problems that could cause a delay in the delivery of the parts. (e.g. engineering changes, material inspections, etc.).
Responsible for requesting expedited suppliers if it is under shipment, if a supplier refusal is received, it is reported to Manager and meetings are generated with the supplier to obtain the recovery plan and the GSM team is involved if required.
Responsible for reporting short materials in time at the time of receiving any notification of force majeure by the supplier, follow up on it and involve the necessary departments for support, if any movement of material outside the standard is required, the analysis of the short must be delivered and the responsibility for the cost of the movement of material must be defined.
- Review of safety stocks every six months and if any abnormality is detected to the Defined parameters Review and modify the information for the correct supplier requirement.
Responsible for reducing and avoiding premium freight according to the established goal.
Responsible for improving and ensuring new releases and engineering changes.
Responsible for keeping material available in stock to keep production lines running, tracking blocked material for disposal.
Follow-up to reports of supplier discrepancies.
Follow-up to all issues that may cause a stoppage in supplier shipments example lack of invoice payments, if you have supplier reports.
Responsible for generating expedited request if necessary with the analysis and filling out of the expedited request form.
Develop releases and release schedules to suppliers through the SAP system.
Develop plans and strategies with the logistics department to improve deliveries and reduce costs.
Inventory management.
Strong communication with suppliers to provide shipping plans.
- Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration.
Time of experience in similar position: 2 years of experience in planning, desirable.
Technical knowledge required: Knowledge in the MRP process and in the planning environment, Knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing process and supply chain.
Other requirements: Microsoft Office, SAP
