TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
Tasks Summary, responsibilities and authority:
- Evaluate Planned Orders to create suitable productions schedules.
- Estimate the amount of material to be used in the production schedule (Clear-to-build).
- Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
- Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottleneck in usage.
- Monitoring and creation of deliveries per Customer needs (Customer Requested Date).
- Notify Sales & Customer Service teams of any schedule impacts to customers.
- Identify strategies to take care of Ship-to-Request metrics per deliveries creation.
- Develop inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit basis.
- Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels to ensure high service levels.
- Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan.
- Review past due orders to determine most effective action-reschedule.
- Monitors rejected/reworked materials and coordinates replacement needs working with Quality, supplier quality, and manufacturing as needed
- Timely reporting of key metrics (Past Due & Ship-to-Request)
- Aid VSM and Materials Manager in achievement of performance targets, including delivery, inventory, and cost avoidance/cost reduction.
- Serve as cross functional liaison to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Support the TEOA initiatives which are related to Lean Production (e.g. Value Stream Mapping, MRF) to ensure that assigned or requested tasks are accomplished
**What your background should look like**:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or related engineering discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience as Planner/ Production Scheduler.
- Experience working in automotive plants.
- Specific qualification, knowledge and skills
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Expertise in Computer skills (SAP R/3, MS Excel, Power Point).
- Strong analytical and organization skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels.
