TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
**Long Description**:
- Develop and maintains in a regular basis the material scheduling to suppliers;
- Analyze trend requirements and published forecasting to drive planning actions;
- Generate purchase orders through analysis and interpretation of materials requirements plan (MRP);
- Follow supplier performance and take appropriate action regarding past due orders;
- Follow shipping process to ensure that materials will be available as needed;
- Escalate supplier capacity and overall performance issues to sourcing team/commodity manager;
- Communicate to the interested groups the risks of supply and material shortages, as well work on alternatives of supply;
- Keep strong relationship with both internal and external partners to ensure supply of materials meets requirements;
- Analyze and propose Min-Max inventory targets, in accordance to material parameters and defined policies;
- Monitor inventory levels against defined targets;
- Monitor freight expenses against defined targets;
- Follow end of production programs and minimize the obsolete inventory levels;
- Complete purchase requests with domestic and international suppliers by inputting purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and verifying all transactions.
- Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner as required.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related problems.

**What your background should look like**:
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
- BA or BS in Materials Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Operations Planning or a related field; MBA, CPM or APICS certification desirable.
- 5+ years of related materials planning (suppliers), inventory control, contract negotiation, supply management, supplier relationships. procurement experience including purchasing is preferred,
- At least 2 years of experience with Metals commodity (desirable)
- Knowledge of MRP processes (Strong knowledge of SAP MM / PP modules)
- Contract manufacturing experience beneficial.
- Work experience in Automotive/Electronics manufacturing environment beneficial.
- Knowledge on S&OP process desirable
