TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle.
They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis.
The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements.
They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team.
They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
**What your background should look like**:
- Order and track material for sample/prototype builds for new product launch projects
- Serve as cross-functional liaison to coordinate requirements for launch projects prior to actual production
- Attain quotes from suppliers for sample/prototype orders prior to ordering
- Analyze material requirement and timing for various builds and provide suggestion for optimizing freight cost and lead-time
- Support procurement with initial production order placement for new material
- Provide timely information to logistics and plant material planning ahead of time for their preparation
- Attend project management meeting and provide leadership.
Escalate appropriately in timely manner to avoid project delays- Aid GPL Manager in achievement of performance targets, including on-time launch and minimize expedite freight
- Lead Master Data set-up process
- Support plant material planning where needed in regards to launch projects
- Lead and attend weekly transfer all and monthly plant review calls to streamline project transfer with plant MRP
- Active participation in S&OP process
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 2-4 years of Material Planning experience.
- Strong understanding of MRP systems: MRP, CRP, Material Requisitions - SAP experience preferred
- Excel knowledge (Vlookup, Pivot table etc.)
- Able to speak and write English proficiently
- Sound interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating and negotiation with company personnel and customer
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
