They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.What your background should look like:Responsibilities:
- Develop MPS to meet customer demand while keeping inventory levels desired.
- Detailed Capacity Planning. Involved with S&OP data to ensure accuracy for forecasting.
- Act as the supply planning point of contact for stakeholders, gathering, understanding, and communicating opportunities along the supply planning area.
- Collaborate with the plant to identify best practices and implement changes to positively impact efficiency, changeovers, waste, and overtime.
- Monitor plant load, identify capacity shortages and drive capacity extension proactively to prevent gaps in supply vs demand.
- Align with the planners to ensure calendars and activities do not impact plant performance, including maintenance, product trials, quality tests, equipment installations, downtimes, capacity updates, renewals, and holidays.
- Participate in new product introductions.
- Working closely with cross-functional leads, identify, plan and resolve inconsistencies and gaps between demand and supply.
- Load and review part number detail on a weekly basis, prepare KPIs and participate in weekly Control Tower with local and global stakeholders.
- Level-loading of supply plans to ensure timely stock availability along with balanced press requirements.
- Monitor weekly customer shipments/STO.
- Create material strategies as needed considering product life cycle and keep track of the inventories to avoid falling into write-offs.
- Escalate to upper management regarding long term material issues that could impact corporate decisions.
- Ensure appropriate parameter settings, system setup and system usage.
- Highlight parts for maintenance of the item master in MRP environment.
- Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities related to production planning, customer service and inventory management
