Develop, size, select and manage the material control, flow, storage and consumption systems, including hardware, to support ICON's build plan and production requirements
- Set up and maintain the ERP system to support the plan
- Develop the material control, levels, accuracy, movement, and usage methodology to support manufacturing and business needs, coordinating with Production and Supply Chain
- Set up and implement material control, movement, storage and point of use consumption in ERP and on the floor
- Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Material Planning to identify differences in the bill materials.
- Work closely with Materials Planning to support the internal supply chain plan
- Support systems to deal with material expedites and shortages
- Support ICON Quality requirements
- Actively manage all shipping and receiving functions
- Actively manage kitting to support production
- Continuously optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of materials control at ICON
- Perform other duties assigned by ICON management
- Work closely with Shelter figure to seek mutual benefiting process and workflows
- Monitor and control files within Shelter, processing tools to maintain process flows
- Root cause analysis and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Develop procedures and perform training for employees.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout the materials function.
- 3+ years of experience in the management and set-up of warehousing, material control, kitting, inventory reduction and point of use consumption in a manufacturing organization
- Expert knowledge of ERP systems particularly as related to warehousing, serialization, work orders, purchasing, shipping, receiving and material management systems
- Expert knowledge of BOM and router concepts
- Understanding of accounting consequences of ERP system transactions as related to set-up and execution
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing client relationships and mentoring and developing staff.
- Significant computer experience including MS Office products and ERP systems, preferably PLEX.
- Experience in known quality standards such as ISO 9000 is required
- Proven ability to lead a team to consistently achieve stretch goals and objectives.
- Quick to provide positive direction by encouraging peers to have a commitment to high standards of quality and performance.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully ISM and APICS certification, i.e., C.P.M., CPIM, CPSM, CSCP desirable
- Practical knowledge of the PLEX ERP system is a plus.
- Experience within companies known for successful lean culture (i.e.
Toyota)
- Up to date and trained on state-of-the art lean manufacturing material management methods
- Experience in the management of PEPS.
- Knowledge of perishable or expiring materials.
- Knowledge of the shipping and logistics process.
- Ability to communicate with parcel delivery companies and forwarding agencies.
- Management of AND ON Production Alerts.
