Career Area:Engineering**Job Description**:The work you will undertake in this role is important to our customers and wider society. Gas turbines are a key technology in the energy transition, which is an important driver for many of our customers. You will help Solar to support customers through aftermarket services, equipment life extension and risk management, which complements our approach to sustainability, life cycle cost, and equipment reliability.- Principal _- Accountabilities:_- Work with cross functional team including turbine aero performance, heat transfer, materials, design layout, and manufacturing to develop digital twin components- Communication and information sharing with colleagues, product owners, and technical leads- Archive and document all completed work using standard procedures- Minimum Qualifications:_- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related degree (aerospace, mechatronics, physics, etc.)- 5+ years of experience- Ability to lead projects- Good written and verbal communication skills (Fluent in English)- Able to work independently- Thermo-fluids knowledge- Material properties knowledge- Firm understanding of probabilistic analysis methods- Experience developing solutions not just implementing them- Significant coding Experience (one of python, C#, C++, Matlab)- Data analysis of complex datasets- Automation- Developing software solutions for mechanical engineering problemsCaterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).Not ready to apply?
