Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network.
The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications.
The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose Mechanical design, creation and modification of technical documentation of telecommunication's network elements, using CAD systems.
Key Responsibilities Mechanical design Design /modify parts using PTC Creo Creating engineering drawings based on Creo models according to current standards Creating technical documentation (specifications, materials, etc.)
Modification of technical documentation, in particular 3D models and engineering drawings Work closely with product engineers, product development engineers and/or technical leaders to identify customer requirements Implementation of process optimization and cost reduction into the design during documentation phase Work in project groups creating new telecommunication solutions Collaborate with other organizations to establish timelines and solve design problems Keep up to date on industry and engineering standards Knowledge and Skill Requirements Education.
Education min.
bachelor's in engineering: Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electromechanic Competencies Good knowledge of CAD systems (2D and 3D) Technical drawing reading Basic materials knowledge Experience in design processes (school or work) Ability to communicate with internal and external clients on technical issues.
