As a mechanical designer, you will be participating in a variety of challenging and diverse projects with our well-known technological clients located around the world. Whether we're testing medical devices, automotive EV modules, or golf balls! each project is different, so you will have to think out of the box, proposing and developing innovative solutions to meet our customer's needs.Within this role, you will contribute to the mechanical design, development, and integration of the test systems that Averna develops.- Collaborate with internal leaders and project managers to meet project goals.- Interact with customers to understand their requirements, and then again to help them understand the solutions we are delivering- Work with suppliers to ensure components meet project objectives**Your contribution in this role**:- Be responsible for the overall mechanical design concept.- Prepare the detailed specification of the design of mechanical components.- Describe and justify the technical choices through simulations and theoretical calculations (Motion analysis, pneumatics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and continuum mechanics).- Perform stack-up tolerance analysis of key components of the design.- Support assembly qualification tests.- Plan, conceptualize and create mechanical designs for new solutions using customer requirements and product specifications.- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (assembly technicians, electrical, software, and pre-sales).- Contribute to keeping the project on schedule and on budget.- Integrate mechanical designs into the electromechanical architecture and validate by designing prototypes.- Present and justify your designs to internal teams and customers.- Generate fabrication and assembly drawings using industry standards such as ASME Y14.100 and ANSI/ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)- Generate engineering Bill Of Materials (BOM)**Qualifications**:- ** Degree**: A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.- ** Experienced**:- Experience with test instrumentation, test cabinet design, and test fixture design, an asset.- ** Proficient**:- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.- Proficient with Solidworks 2D/3D; Experience with Inventor, an asset.- ** Skills**: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to plan and organize workload, professional and results oriented. Strong capacity for adaptation and priorities management.- ** Communication**: Fluent in English, written & spoken
