AECOM Mexico is immediate need of a Resident Mechanical Engineer to support a major industrial project.
This person works under the technical direction of the Resident Engineer Coordinator to provide assistance for engineering assignments and have the ability to solve construction related issues on the field.
Review and comments on Contractor's shop drawings, As-Built drawings, MS and material submittals and RFIs.
Job Duties
+ Provide assistance to the Resident Engineer with prompt exchange of correspondence, submittals, NCR's and RFI's to all relevant parties.
+ Serve as the site person responsible for coordinating the daily site construction works.
+ Review the shop drawings, method statements, material submittals.
+ Monitor the progress of the site activities and make sure that all the construction works are carried out as per design/shop drawings and project specifications.
+ Review and verify As-Built drawings.
+ Submit daily report on site activities as directed by the Resident Engineer.
+ Supervise and remain vigilant regarding all aspects of the construction activities.
Respond with appropriate and necessary levels of construction supervision to provide quality assurance in accordance with Contract Documents.
+ Observe the safety procedures followed by the contractor.
Discuss the observations with the contractor as necessary to correct safety violations.
+ Assist in the final inspection and handover of the work.
Review the adequacy and accuracy of the defect lists.
+ Attend independently the T&C of all utility networks and buildings.
+ Specific Skills Required
+ Relevant experience shall be in Fire Fighting System, sewerage, potable water, storm water, HVAC system and buildings plumbing works.
+ Knowledge of Saudi Building Codes and NFPA related to Mechanical Engineering.
+ Technical knowledge of the theory and design of Mechanical Engineering with multitasking capabilities between design and construction coordination skills are highly preferable.
+ Time management, tasks management, Teamwork, and Computer literate.
Minimum Requirements
+ 6+ years post graduate experience in construction supervision of Mechanical equipment and networks within comparable infrastructure projects but specifically in the Fire Fighting, HVAC Systems, Plumbing, Pumps and treatment plant.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with Fire Fighting and HVAC work experience.
Site supervision of plumbing activities.
