Vivo HealthStaff is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Medical Review Officer (MRO) to join our team.
As an MRO, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies related to drug and alcohol testing. Your primary role will involve reviewing and interpreting laboratory results of drug tests, interacting with medical professionals, and providing expert advice on the medical aspects of drug and alcohol testing.
Responsibilities:
Review and interpret laboratory results of drug and alcohol tests conducted on employees or individuals as per company policies and regulations.Evaluate and verify the authenticity of test results by analyzing data, checking chain of custody, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.Collaborate with medical professionals, laboratories, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information, clarify ambiguous results, and resolve any discrepancies.Provide expert advice and guidance to employers, employees, and management regarding drug and alcohol testing policies, procedures, and regulations.Maintain accurate and confidential records of all drug and alcohol testing activities, including test results, communication with medical professionals, and relevant documentation.Review and update drug and alcohol testing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with changing regulations and best practices.Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and legal requirements related to drug and alcohol testing to provide up-to-date recommendations and guidance.Conduct training sessions and educational programs to educate employees and management about drug and alcohol testing policies, procedures, and regulations.Serve as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, assisting with audits, inspections, and compliance-related matters.Collaborate with HR, legal, and other departments to investigate and resolve drug and alcohol-related incidents, including policy violations and disciplinary actions.Qualifications:
Medical degree with a valid license to practice medicine.Certification as a Medical Review Officer (MRO) from a recognized organizationIn-depth knowledge of drug and alcohol testing regulations, including the Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines, Federal Drug-Free Workplace Act, and relevant state laws.
