Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.Job Purpose and ImpactThe Senior Merchant will be responsible for the sourcing and risk management of our main commodities positions. The scope of sourcing includes corn, soybean meal and wheat, amongst others. This role will be responsible to handle a supplier base and fulfill transactions delivering commodities that meet production requirements and specifications in terms of timing, volume, quantity and cost. In this role, you will buy ingredients that are used on our process of feed manufacturing while connecting and managing the exposure to price volatility and its implications to our competitiveness towards the market.. Key AccountabilitiesCollaborate with transportation and logistics, quality assurance, plant teams and to ensure efficient execution and on time deliveries to our needs. Responsible for the ingredient purchase process from Source to Pay, managing directly in SAP system the corresponding transactions.Procure commodities to 10 different facilities across Mexico, serving the two business of Animal Nutrition that are settled in the country.Generate market and position reports based on data and specialty reports in collaboration with global teams and other members of the local team. This role will have primarily accountability on position of ingredientsResearch and analyze arbitrages and freight opportunities in the marketplace to maximize competitiveness. Aligning market outlooks to business needs and execute plans that will allow for the business to be successful on its growth targets.Work directly with customers, suppliers and business counterparts to develop business solutions to meet their needs thru methodologies such as Accelerate Continuous Improvement and others.Work closely with commercial team to address and serve strategic customers with innovative solutions.Independently handle complex issues with mínimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.Other duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experienceMinimum of six years of related work experienceAdvanced English LevelOther minimum qualifications may applyPreferred QualificationsFeed/food industry experience
