Join us.**Description**:Caterpillar's Advanced Materials Technology (AMT) is currently seeking an experienced Metallurgical engineer focused on supplier assessment and development as well as project leadership to support our global foundry and heat treatment engineering team in North America manufacturing complexes & supply base. In this role you will have an opportunity to provide the technical expertise necessary to lead capital projects, develop and implement complex manufacturing solutions and support sophisticated machines and related equipment.**Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to**:- Support Foundry and Heat Treatment supplier assessment program to ensure compliance with Caterpillar quality and manufacturing process requirements- Lead initiatives to address quality issues at suppliers, improve efficiency and reduce scrap- Lead new technology concepts on industrial equipment used in foundries and heat treatment factories- Implement, maintain, and update foundry & heat treat equipment safety systems critical to operations- Lead complex capital projects supporting manufacturing facilities in North America region and deliver effective solutions on time and budget- Manage annual capital spend (> $2M annual spend), including budget reporting and spend forecast- Manage introduction, troubleshooting & validation of new products and processes to alleviate PQVC bottlenecks**Basic Qualifications**- Bachelor's degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering from an accredited university- 10 years experience with supplier development activities- 5 years experience with metallurgical process control and quality systems- 3 years experience supporting manufacturing operations- 3 years experience leading a team or project- Conversational English- 15 years of previous experience in Foundry supplier quality and development- Strong manufacturing engineering experience and understanding of SFMEA, APQP, CI, SW, CPS & BIQ
