Purpose Statement: The Metrology Technician will coordinate and perform all necessary Metrology requirements within the Americas region. This person will support all cost reduction and source change projects by executing quote activity and validating first articles.Key Job Accountabilities:- Document and understand requirements from different industries including Aerospace, Medical, Telecommunication and others.- Programming, evaluating, and maintaining Metrology equipment.- Develop and document best practices for all metrology requirements.- Interface with Engineering, Supply Chain, Customers, and Manufacturing to support the timely validation of components.Additional Accountabilities:- Programming - Develop and program equipment for all requirements, including CMM.- Project Management - Effectively present first article inspection reports and supporting documentation to appropriate stakeholders.- Execute RFQ process -Develop RFQ packages as directed by Commodity Management, including follow-up with suppliers as needed to achieve cost reduction targets.- Dimensional Studies, Instrument Calibration, R&R studies, Functional Tests, Destructive tests, CP, CPK and PPAP.- Optimized line performances to suppliers, Used statistical techniques for validation and qualification of process parameters, Analyzed failed components to determine the possible causes, commodities Plastics, Molding, Machining and Sheet metals.- Suppliers quality system and product audits, internal quality audits, release new parts and suppliers, follow up corrective actions, FMEA's, Control Plans, six sigma projects development, APQP.- Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 10%).- Additional duties as assigned.Education/Experience Qualifications:- A minimum of a Degree in Technical Discipline is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.- Three (3) years of related experience is preferred; Two (2) or more years of equivalent experience is preferred.- Experience working in a metrology lab strongly preferred.- Manufacturing experience a plus.An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.Other Qualifications:- Must have the ability to understand and evaluate engineering specifications and models.- Exceptional communication abilities to facilitate cross functional alignment.- Familiarity with Quality Control Processes.- Wide variety of Metrology Lab equipment including CMM programming.- General office equipment and materials.Work Environment:- The work setting should consist of a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level.- This document does not represent a contract of employment and is not intended to capture every possible assignment the incumbent could be asked to perform._
