MEX Mechanical EngineerLocation: MX, C.P, San Luis Potosi, S.L.PPosition Summary: The Mechanical Design Engineer I within our Production Engineering team is responsible for designing customer-specified custom switchgear distribution reclosure and overhead switches products to our G&W's quality standard. This position will specialize in our entire catalog of overhead and underground switchgear products. G&W is excited to engage a self-motivated and results-oriented individual to join our fast-paced, collaborative work environment that offers consistent learning opportunities and problem-solving experience.Essential/Primary Responsibilities:Design to order per customer provided specification within a team environment.Provide design competency to industry standards (IEEE, NEC, IEC, ANSI, UL, NEMA, etc.).Design products to internal engineering design standards and best practices within customer lead time and quality expectations.Coach, maintain and assist technical aptitude among design team members.Be a change agent in department and company by identifying and resolving root causes through problem solving activities.Provide technical support for internal and external customers.Collaborate cross-functionally to support and provide technical aptitude for company and departmental projects as needed (e.G. Product Development, Aftermarket Support, Application Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing).Required Experience:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Relevant Discipline.Experience in 2D and 3D design (CAD).Excellent written and verbal communication skills and has demonstrated presentation skills to diverse audiences in Spanish and English.Strong analytical design and quantitative problem-solving skills.Preferred Experience:CREO CAD Software experience.Sheet Metal design experience.Leadership and Training Change Management experience.Continuous improvement initiatives.Root Cause Analysis / Problem-Solving strategies.ISO Certified Manufacturing Environment experience.Reliability Design Tools.Design For Manufacturability (DFM), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T), Design of Experiments (DOE).Experience with Oracle J.D.
