This position will be responsible for communicating with our clients, their suppliers, carriers, customs brokers and in some cases their customers. The review and processing of customer orders and complete execution for all shipments in their respective portfolio ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. The Mexico Operations Associate is responsible for retaining and growing their assigned customers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSBuild strong relationships with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and internal partners.Execute day-to-day transportation needs.Accept and build loads from our customers and internal stakeholders, understanding how our customers send us loads, acknowledging with the customer when received, and building them accurately.Identify issues, utilize resources to determine the best course of action, and implement solutions.Respond to customer/carrier inquiries and provide updates in a timely manner.Understand customer/carrier rating to properly provide quotes to customers based on specific freight criteria.Manage Customer Bid Boards/TMS Systems when applicable.Understand customer processes and identify areas for improvement.Maintain daily reporting schedule utilizing internal systems.Generate and maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records and shipment documentation.Effectively communicate necessary changes or adaptations important to the customer shipments in a timely manner.Process all inbound, outbound and return shipments using TMS (Mercury Gate) software and other tools for accurate and timely delivery.All other duties that may be reasonably assigned, including special projects and cross-training in other departments.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSPrevious experience in transportation/logistics with cross-border logistics.Experience with a carrier or 3PL with a focus on cross-border transportation and extensive carrier relationships preferred.Experience working in a Transportation Management System (TMS) preferred.Exceptional customer service skills.High level of organizational and multitasking skills.Ability to problem-solve on the spot.Experience with Microsoft Office.Geographical knowledge of USA and Mexico.Ability to read, write, type and speak English and Spanish fluently is a requirement of this position
