Mexico Payments Sr Program Manager, Payments Business OperationsAmazon Payments is seeking a high-energy Senior Program Manager to drive operational excellence, financial controllership, and product innovation in our Latam Payments Business Operations team. As one of the world's largest e-commerce companies, Amazon processes billions of secure online transactions via various payment mechanisms, including credit cards, direct debit, and electronic gift certificates. This role requires a strong background in payments, financial operations, accounting, and tax expertise to ensure compliance and optimize financial and settlement processes.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing key payment partners, driving operational excellence, supporting new product launches, and overseeing payments controllership functions. This role requires a motivated self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. The successful candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, diving deep into all areas of the team to ensure exceptional customer experiences, operational efficiencies, and financial accuracy.
Key job responsibilitiesLead, prioritize, and direct the team to meet and improve key payments and finance key financial events metrics and SLAsIdentify and build key business relationships to understand challenges and opportunitiesManage operational relationships with third-party payment partners (internal and external)Identify operational gaps in new offerings and set requirements for new projects to implement process improvementsResolve escalations and lead improvement projects to enhance customer experience and internal processesPartner with internal teams to support new payments products post-launchBuild and analyze business and operational metrics to identify trends and areas for improvementOversee financial controllership, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting by collaborating with accounting and tax teamsDevelop and implement financial controls and risk management strategies to ensure regulatory and internal complianceBASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree or certificate of completion of studies required7+ years of relevant work experience, including significant experience in payments, financial controllership, accounting, and taxFluency in English and SpanishExperience managing external relationships and cross-functional teamsStrong analytical skills with advanced SQL and Excel knowledgeProven ability to identify and resolve data inconsistenciesExperience in operational or customer-facing roles within financial services or e-commerceProgram management experience and ability to drive issues to completionStrong business acumen and ability to work with large datasetsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in the Payments industry or digital commerceFluency in PortugueseProven track record of process improvement and innovation in financial operationsExperience presenting to and influencing senior leadershipKnowledge of tax implications for international payment transactionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
